Introduction
Medias Botanical Abrasives are hard and fibrous abrasives made from
crushed walnut shells, apricot pits and corn cobs in accordance with the
industrial standards. These products are well known for their excellent
durability and elasticity, hence, used widely in grinding and polishing
processes.

Characteristics
-
These botanical abrasives are suitable for grinding and polishing surfaces
without leaving scratches which may lead to oxidation.
-
The different grain sizes available can produce different effects. Walnut
Shells are available in 15 grades, Apricot Grits and Corn Cobs in 8 grades.
-
Compared with similar abrasives made from other materials, botanical abrasives
have a lower cost.
-
There is no danger of silicosis or other occupational diseases developing
from the use of botanical abrasives
-
It is easy to handle botanical abrasives.

Many others
Following many years of research, and development
walnut shells have been found to be a comparatively soft high grade botanical
abrasive. This is our best-selling abrasive, with the widest applications
in the market. Our walnut shells have uniform grain size. We take great care
in preventing the inclusion of foreign matter or dust in our abrasives, thus
assuring its high quality |
 |
Apricot grit is made from apricot pits. It is slightly harder than walnut
shells. Through a special process, the fat has been removed from the pits,
making this abrasive suitable for processing after soldering of semiconductors,
such as deburring, where fat is not desired. |
 |
Corn cobs are the softest abrasives. It is widely used as a polishing agent
in various barrel finishing processes. Since corn cobs are also highly absorbent,
they not only absorb both water and oil but also brighteners, such as wax.
This increases the effectiveness of the polishing
